NOTE:
AGRICULTURAL BURN PERMITS are only allowed to be issued to land that has been designated by the town’s Assessor to be Farm/Agricultural land. As part of the application process for an agricultural burn permit, documentation must be attached to the application that proves the land is designated as Farm/Agricultural land and is currently a working farm. All documentation will be reviewed and will require approval from the AHJ.

RESIDENTIAL BURN PERMITS are issued to residents within the town who wish to burn during the open burning season which is January 15th through May 1st of each year. The residential burn permit application period will start on January 1st of each year through the burning season and no further applications will be accepted after May 1st of each year. Residential open burning will only be allowed between the hours of 10:00am and 4:00pm during the burning season and all permitted residents must check each day to ensure burning is allowed that day due to current weather conditions.
